We believe there is one LIVING AND TRUE GOD, eternally existing in three persons; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
We believe in GOD THE FATHER; infinite and personal, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. He answers prayers and will never turn away those who come to Him under the blood of Jesus Christ.
We believe in JESUS CHRIST, the eternal and only Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, provided for the atonement of our sins by His death, for us, on the Cross, was bodily resurrected, sits at the right hand of God the Father, where He makes intercession for His people, awaits a time soon when He will rapture or take up His saints, and afterward to set up his kingdom on Earth.
We believe in the HOLY SPIRIT, His present day ministry of convicting the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. That He indwells all believers and enables them to be filled, living for God and producing fruit. That the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is for all believers, and all the biblical gifts of the Spirit are available and should be exercised. That those baptized in and filled with the Holy Spirit will receive power both to be a witness for Jesus Christ and to live a holy life.
We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the WORD OF GOD, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts. It is the Final Authority in doctrinal Truth and daily life.
We believe that ALL MEN HAVE SINNED and are under condemnation. However, SALVATION, regeneration, and forgiveness are freely offered to all, and are received as one repents of sin and accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. We are SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH, not as a result of our efforts or good deeds.
We believe in the UNIVERSAL CHURCH, the living spiritual Body, of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members. The Church has the privilege and responsibility of sharing God’s love and equipping people in that love.
We believe in TWO ORDINANCES committed to the Church by Jesus Christ: water baptism as a symbol of an inward change of life through Christ and a commitment to walk with Him. As well as the LORD’S SUPPER or communion with Christ, which is a reminder of the sacrifice He made for each of us on the cross. Neither communion nor baptism can give one eternal life, but they do demonstrate our love for and obedience to Jesus Christ.

Foothills Baptist church grew from a Bible-study and prayer group that was started in 1965 by Mr. & Mrs. Don La Voie in their home on Apple Valley Road, in Lyons, Colorado. In 1972 a block building was built (now used as Sunday School classrooms). In 1974 a new log building was planned and a bank loan made it possible to order the logs. Builders for Christ sent volunteers to join the men of our church, and construction began.
One day while the workers were on a lunch break, after the rafters were in place, a freak windstorm blew the rafters down. Thankfully, no one was hurt. With the money the insurance paid to replace the rafters, we were able to replace not only the rafters but complete the rest of the building as well. A neighboring congregation donated theatre seats. The old-timers still remember the pot bellied stove that provided heat for the fellowship hall. It was a bit rustic then. As the years have gone by various updates have been made including central heating/air conditioning, pews, carpet, paved parking lot, new entrance, landscaping, kitchen appliances, handicap accessible bathrooms, musical instruments, etc.
The important part of the church's history is not the history of the building. What really matters is the people who have came to know the Lord here. Children have been taught in the Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and as a result have been saved and baptized here.
Lives have forever been changed by the teaching/preaching of the Word of God from this pulpit. The Bible has been taught in other countries and communities by missionaries who were supported by the people of this church. Many new Christians have been baptized in this baptistery. The Lord has used this congregation to minister His love and bring His healing to the brokenhearted. He has anointed us to preach deliverance to those held captive by sin and to teach the truth of the Bible to those blinded by all that is contrary to His Word. That was God's purpose and plan for us starting back in 1965 and throughout the following years. It continues to be His plan for us now in this present time, and continuing on into the future.
